Found a really cheap slim console, but it's only 4gb. Can I use my old HDD in it? If no, does a USB memory suffice as a substitute? Any cons?

Yes you can.

You have to take out the screws from the case and put the hdd in the slim on the the side. Takes five minutes.

Great, and there is not much risk involved? I googled this and I heard you need a rare kind of screwdriver. Is that true? :S

Only the golden gem encrusted screwdriver of Antioth shall suffice in opening yonder hard drive case.

Or...a T8 screwdriver. either works.

But yes it is rare ish. (Ie you may not have one hut they are widely available). You can also use pliers and smash through the case also you will have no need to keep it.

Yeah most hardware stores here in America have them for like a buck. They are not that rare, especially if you work with electronics.
