search around at mom and pop video game stores. they get used controllers and brokens ones all the time with trade in systems. see if they have any broken ones, usually they throw them away, if not ask if they can keep a few and check back in occasionally. salvage the parts. thats what I've been trying to do with NES/SNES controllers.
The mind is such a fragile thing..... that's probably why mine is shattered beyond repair.
