I think anyone who was around in the NES, SNES or N64 days knows where I'm coming from. Games like the classic Marios, Zeldas, Chrono Trigger, etc. Nothing today compares to that in terms of pure creativity.

Not knocking modern gaming, because I'm loving it. I just don't think today's kids will look back at PS3 games with nostalgia, there's nothing that makes them timeless.

I think a lot of the nostalgia of the past came from how isolated the gaming community was for a while. The internet wasn't too big yet, so everyone was left to their own devices to discover everything a game had to offer. Online gaming wasn't around either, so you had to have your friends with you when you played multiplayer, and that's always more fun.

But who knows? Ask some kids in about 15 or 20 years. XD

If they learn how to have fun with games i can't see why they shouldn' if they are like some of the Burger King gamers we see on Gamefaqs then i don't think it's gonna happen.

They will be more worried about where the game comes from, what language it's in, and if it's developed to their specifications, i.e. if another Final Fantasy isn't exactly like FFVII.

No. Kids today have zero attention span. Old games, board games they can't even sit through.

What's a burger king gamer? You mean someone who just rushes through games to quickly move to the next one?

If the PS3 isn't timeless then I fear for the 360. Both consoles will have a place in gaming history and be remembered as many people's first consoles. I don't think you can decide what moments in a random child's life are magical.

I started with a Sega Genesis and a PS1 and I get nostalgia from the old Sonic games, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Klonoa, Tail Concerto, and other games.
