I mean every major game they release has gotten around 9s and goty. Morrowwind did, oblivion did, and fallout 3 did. It seems it may be the same with skyrim. But theres always a chance of failure.

Oblivion easily should have averaged below 9. The game felt about as exciting as a piece of cardboard in my one playthrough of the game.

You didn't play it right. There are no "playthroughs" in Oblivion.

Doing everything in the game would take about 300 hours, and I doubt you invested that much time into it.

You probably just rushed through the main quest and stopped playing. That's not a "playthrough."
