I remember back during PS2 days it was all about EA VS 2K....I personally always
played the MLB series and knew it would SNEAK BY those two while they fight each other,
2K contractually killed off EA but forgot all about Sony who been working on taking over baseball gaming market since PS2, once the "MLB:THE SHOW" IP came into the picture and MLB 2K didn't improve IT WAS OVER

Major League Baseball 2K’s Cancellation Looms on Grim News from Game’s Publisher

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Sports, notably left Major League Baseball 2K out of its planned releases in its coming fiscal year. Kotaku asked Take-Two Interactive if it could confirm the end of the series, and it did.

"Our legacy Major League Baseball agreement will sunset in fiscal 2013," a Take-Two spokesman said, meaning in the coming 12 calendar months. "MLB 2K12 is our last offering under that agreement. At this time, we have no further comment."
"Metal Gear Rising will be a port on PS3, P+ are xbots devs that never created/developed or even ported Bayonetta on PS3"- 12/2011

Other than the million dollar no hitter contest, I don't see the reason anyone would ever purchase MLB2K when you have MLB The Show.

As much as I don't care for Baseball, I'm happy something is finally going good for Sony.
You think locked content would've been made in the first place if they weren't going to charge for it?

Isn't that the one where you can win a million dollars by playing a game with a no hitter? lol

The series can be bad with the bugs. But MLB the Show is starting to become really lazy as a game series effort nowadays. Commentating is getting worse by the year, gameplay balance is somehow getting worse and worse and there's more and more bugs.

It'd be best if both series can up their game instead of one being cancelled and the other becoming equally bug-infested.
Rest in Peace, my beloved dog and family member 1999-2011
