Do you use cable, or do you use DSL? I understand fiber is also an option, but not where I live.

I am currently with the local cable company here in Ontario, on a 30Mbit down / 2Mbit up package that costs $61.99 a month. I do have an offer to lower the price for $49.99 if I commit to a year agreement.

I recently had VDSL installed. With that I am on a 25Mbit down / 10Mbit up package on a promotional rate of $49.99 for 8 months, then up it goes to $63.99

The problem with cable in my area, is that the "node" gets rather crammed at night. Alot of students and families in my neighborhood all online at the same time. My speeds drop to 8Mbit and less.

So far the VDSL has been okay, with consistent speeds, but im worried about the price getting jacked up later on.

What do you fellow gamers use and prefer.

DSL is all we have. It isn't ideal, but I don't play any type of online games that require a fast connection.
Only my opinion is valid.

Cable is all I have in my area but I live in a small town on our own node and I'm happy with it.

It is a rated 20 down 5 up package but I constantly draw between 30 and 40 down. My upload is poor as it usually runs around 3 but I personally don't need upload nor care about that.

I have really low ping all the time as well. It has worked well for me but I will always take better when it comes available.
