I wanted to buy Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim, but I heard they were super buggy on the PS3?

Any truth to this?

Skyrim isn't that bad anymore due to the patches, but new Vegas might be the buggiest game I have played on ps3. I'd still reccomend it though, but be prepared for lots of crashes on new Vegas.

There is no reason to get the PS3 version if other versions are accessible to you.

That's a good way to put it I suppose.

If you can get the Fallouts on PC or 360, then you should. They aren't unplayable on the PS3 but they can freeze a lot. Don't know if they're buggier apart from the freezing though.

Fallout New Vegas is an excellent game. Though on ps3 I hear it's terribly buggy and freezes A LOT.

Forgot to add - skyrim is pretty good on the ps3 now but the 360 version is still better. If you can get it for 360. If not then yeah sure try skyrim. Avoid getting new vegas on the ps3 though.

They're playable on PS3, but the PC > Xbox > PS3 version for Bethesda games.

I would not recommend either one for PS3.

Fallout: New Vegas I've played personally and got to 100% trophies (including DLC), and it was just a mess almost the entire way through. Freezes, horrible framerate and stuttering, etc. The four DLC expansions were by far the least playable parts of the game. It's a great game brought down to a 4/10 because of how awful the PS3 port is. Just not worth experiencing if you can't get it on the PC, or at least 360, I'm afraid.

Skyrim I have not played myself, but I've heard nothing but bad about it from friends. Typical PS3 Bethesda port, I guess.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion are the only playable PS3 Bethesda games, and even Fallout 3 has some pretty bad issues.

All Bethesda games on the PS3 are the worst versions of Bethesda game.

The PC versions of there games are best but that is only because the community gets tired of Bethesda's incompetence and make there own patches, the PC versions have mods too.

If you have a PC that is powerful enough to play them then get them for that, if not then get them for the 360 if you have one. If you only have a PS3 then you're stuck with the worst (by a lot in some cases) version of there games.
Current Playing: Front Mission 4 (I finally imported a USA PS2), Forza Motorsport and Wipeout Series.

Skyrim on PS3 was a complete mess before the patches but now it runs better than the 360 version. I have it for both consoles and the 360 version still freezes once in awhile. Play Like A Raven
