About the only thing coming to mind that had a good plot without that stuff would be the movie Looper, but I'm not really racking my brain to think of a bunch right now. They can exist, but they can also easily exist with any of those aspects.

Just, maybe not "all" of those aspects.

Still, Nier has one of the best stories this gen. Nice OST too.

and I agree - it's actually one of the best plots ever.
