If PS3 had other "classic" JRPGs, would people care about Ni No Kuni?

It just seems like Ni No Kuni is being hyped because it's one of if not the only "classic" JRPG on the system. I mean, what else is there? I guess Star Ocean......Maybe.....

Yes. It's getting great reviews and would stand out from other JRPGs, if they existed.

I would still cares as much due it beeing a joint Studio Ghibli project.

any studio ghibli fans would for sure. I don't think it would be as hyped if ps3 had half the rpg selection ps1 or ps2 had but I think there would still be plenty of interest
PSN: dragonlibrarian plays; Awesomenauts, Skullgirls, Jojo's HD, SSFIITHDR, SFIII: OE, MVC2, AH3, KoF 94/95/96/XIII, VF5:FS, P4A, GGXXAC+HD, CS:GO, UTIII

studio ghibli is somewhat over rated. I like cartoons so I seen some of their movies and can see how much work they put into them but they just seem ok.

I rather play Atelier Arland trilogy. It has traditional turn-based battle system and medieval theme.

You can be sure that they wouldn't care. Only reason it's getting so much hype is the Jrpg genre isn't doing that well this gen. After how bad FF 13 and 13-2 were people are starved.

Considering the battle system probably isn't its main selling feature anyway, yes.
I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.

Sure people are starved on jRPGs but I think people would be interested if they weren't.
