Played it a couple years ago and thought the music was on par with FFX, and the characterization was pretty good. Since it's made by the same people, can anyone give me feedback who has played both these games. Should I buy it now, or wait for a price drop. Thanks!

P.S.: Don't really care about the "kiddie" graphics people mentioned. Played Dark Cloud 2 and Wind Waker that had "cel-shaded" graphics and loved both of them. Specially Dark Cloud 2!

I would suspect that you would.

You'll get a lot of variable opinion on here, so best bet would be to download the demo off the PSN if you can and judge for yourself, before you buy.

I find the games to be kinda similar, personally. So probably, yes.

Love DQ8, but NNK? Not so much. The music and scenery is great, but the battle system falls a little flat for me.
Did someone just page the King of Awesome?

Most of the people I've talked to have described it as Dragon Quest meets Pokemon...so...

The demo sucked compaired to how good the actual game is. I wouldn't recomend using the demo too see if you'd like the game.

It isn't exactly the same. Other than the battle system and the art style, it is more similar to Dragon Quest IX than VIII. The combat system is kinda unique, although certain aspects of it are similar to several other games. I am a big fan of the Dragon Quest series and I'm loving NnK very much.

NNK's combat system is much better than DQVIII.
