If I spend 60 hours on a $60 game I feel like it was worth the money, anything less than that and I just can't justify the purchase.

I know there are shorter games out there that I'd enjoy just as much, if not more than the longer ones but I always get a feeling of buyer's remorse when I put a game on the shelf for good after only playing it for a week.

So what makes a game worth your money?

Entertainment value.

$60 for Binary Domain, and had the best TPS experience of my life. Worth it.

$60 for Dynasty Warriors 7, and realized after 5 minutes that it was the same exact garbage as before, with the best story attempt but horrible everything else. Not worth it.

Usually if I get 2 hours for every $10 spent, I feel that it was worth it.

Probably sounds corny, but if it's a memorable game. Even if it's short. A game you can remember in the future and smile about.
I'm hot blooded, check it and see

MMX.

If I paid $100 for it back in the day, best $100 ever spent. I don't even remember how much $ went to it.

If it's a linear game then it's decided if I play it more then once (ie: XCom)
If it's a sandbox game then it's decided if I keep playing it long after the story has ended (ie: Red Dead Redemption)
