All this talk about the next generation of consoles but do you ever wonder what the next generation of games will arrive on? Compact Discs are flimsy, fragile and in some ways cumbersome so they won't be around forever. What do you think the next method for storing video games will be? Will we see games one day being sold to customers on flashdrives or maybe they'll go back to cartridges, or will everything just be download only? Discuss.

Yes.

I agree that it'll likely eventually go full digital within the next couple decades, and probably Blu-Ray until then.

Yeah, they aren't forced to change it, they'll just stick with it until they push for digital only.

very cool. we'll probably all be dead by the time it becomes viable though.

they have been working on cybernetic computers for like a decade now and they expect another 8 years before we start seeing them in real use.
