Hello, recently I bought a PS3 (Slim 320 GB) and on the 360 there was an option that allowed me to set the game in the disc tray to auto boot whenever I turned on my console. Is there an option to do that on the PS3?

The only auto start is for when you insert a disk. so no you cannot set it to auto start the disc when powering on the system
That does it! I have had it with these mother****ing trolls on this mother****ing board!!! -mercuryblade09

I really hate that. it's not a huge inconvenience, but if i'm putting a disc in to start up the machine.......guess what i want it to do

It would be nice if it had the option to auto-run the disc, but it's not like it's difficult to go scroll down one or two icons and press X

You see, when I have to start up my console I have to insert the speakers, adjust the couch and plug in the thing. It's nice to have a quick start-up.
