Definitely not for everyone.
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to, since the game holds your hand through 3/4 of the game.

You might cry in agony when you get to Gran Pulse though, because they let go of your hand and force you to fend for yourself at that point. Not that the game doesn't still guide you, it just does so in a way that won't be obvious if you haven't had to think for yourself because the game told you what to do up until that point.
If you're not going to share with the entire class, then don't bother sharing at all.

Turn off auto-battle and use "repeat" when needed.

The real battle system doesn't start until you're around 2 hours into the game.

Read the datalog entries when they're updated.

As long as you're patient and you do these things above, I think you'll really enjoy the game. Its got its flaws, to be sure, but it's a well-crafted, memorable experience.

Also, the game is pretty player-friendly. The game has some really challenging fights, but the game heals you after every battle, you can retry battles as many times as you'd like (and you can even run away from them), when you battle, experience points go to everyone, even party members who finished the battle dead and party members who are not even there with you in that location, and save points pop up every 10-15 minutes.

There's no such thing as a game for everyone. Final Fantasy's fanbase is especially massive and widely divided due to the changes every game.
The best you can do is give it a try and see for yourself.

not a very good game, there are many better games on the ps3
trolls and fanboys are the same just working on different ends of the spectrum.

This one is.
That's not a good thing though.
