doesn't have to be from this generation or from the PS3 exclusively.

From memory Suikoden 5.. if I wasn't such a huge suikoden fan I would have dropped it like it's hot so fast. 5-6 hours with absolutely no combat and just moving around inside the castle.

Kingdom Hearts 2. I don't like the first kingdom hearts but I bought the second one when it came out hoping it would be better... I almost destroyed my controller because the first 6 hours were a nightmare. Then I never swore to buy another Kingdom hearts and stopped playing it.

FF13 (no, this is not a stealth FF13 hate topic) .. the first 20 hours.. yes, I said 20 hours... all the lecie, falcie, lefalcie, lelunacy, leidiocy and so on.. I wanted to kill myself. I gave up after 20 hours of extreme boredom and just quit. Now ff13 is the worst ff followed by ff8, but not closely. FF13 managed to make FF8 not that horrible to me, still bad though.

What about you guys, what are some jrpgs with extrmely slow starts that you remember of?

I totally agree on kingdom hearts 2, but it isn't just a slow start, it's that bad the whole game.

This. My copy got shelved a few hours in. I'm usually into rpg's pretty good, but this one just got real boring after the first half hour or so.

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, but it was VERY worth it. The last half of the game is spectacular, and more than made up for the slow start.
If you're not going to share with the entire class, then don't bother sharing at all.

for people who hate ff13 prior to chapter 11 they are too addicted to action and open worlds.

Final fantasy games are a lot about story telling and character development (alot of this was trashed in ff13-2 tho).

Neither of those two things were found in FF13.

So your point?

What I don't get is, the impatience with NNK. 30 minutes? Really?
