Alien: Isolation Won't Offer Multiplayer or Co-Op. Better than Alien:CM already?

There is ONE alien in the ENTIRE game, and I dont think you can ever kill it.

Already Im very intrigued. The game seems to be lots of running, hiding, and I assume puzzle solving.

I'm not even an Aliens fan, but from all the content I've watched about Aliens, this sounds GODLY for a game, especially as it seems to take one of the ideals of one of the movies and actually translate it to the game hopefully well. Sounds like the Alien game fans truly will desire, while Colonial Marines feels like a bad movie tie-in to Aliens with no idea what its vision was. NP- LoZ:ALBW, Borderlands 2, RaC:ItN

The game needs to have

no checkpoints
saving only for progression
save erasing after death

To truly be a frightening experience.

It worked with Steel Battalion

Only for harder difficulties of course. Also, what do you mean by the second point?

oh yeah, for sure. Great point. Give us a casual run through if desired, and an ultra hardcore option. Damn, now I really hope they do it.

second point: I mean you can save your game, so you don't have to leave your console on, but you won't be able to use that save as a restart point (aside from using it to continue, from the main menu I mean). Again, same thing steel battalion does. It saves your mission progression and stats, but if you don't eject before your mech blows, your career is over

I just watched several videos for the game and I'm stoked. It actually looks like a genuine horror survival game and being set in the ALIEN universe, which I adore, its terrific.

It risks being another Mirror's Edge.

Even Mirror's Edge resorted to guns from time to time. and it did have a bad plot, and too short.

Single player games like these should at least be the length of Half-Life

Isolation could also benefit from more open maps instead of some string of setpieces.

Even if the alien a.i. is great, it might end up being like Tomb Raider, which has little to no incentive to replay and the tacked on collection gimmicks have no rewarding incentive.

Isolation's design can't be like some movie rental. There will be scripted stuff and a path, but
they could make it more open world within the station. Yea it's tough keeping a story progressive
while having a totally open enviornment.

but still, it could be much more than a tunnel of hide and seek.

Take a piece of paper and draw a huge circle on it

then within that circle, draw a complex maze, with different routes

then repeat that seven other pieces of paper, each maze theoretically taking an hour to complete

now stack them on top of one another

There's your 3 dimensional open non linear but still linear world

(basically Metroid meh)

My worries are the replayability will be lacking with this sort of game play, hopefully they have some type of mercenaries mode after you beat the game.

I hope they make it just like CoJ:Gunslinger. A great SP game decently priced.

The co-op was the best part of Colonial Marines.
