Personally, I think "kiddie" is just a term created by frat boys and kids who play shooters to mock games with colourful cartoony graphics, no matter how good they are. I want more games with colourful cartoony graphics, though. I'm sick of everything having to be gritty, realistic, and grey and brown these days.
Lot of times that's what it seems like. Kids rather play games that are not targeted for them and be playing "what's cool".

Kiddy = game pretty much exclusively aimed at children Game for everyone = game people of all ages enjoy
Just think of it like this: Animated Disney movies = enjoyed by everyone Teletubbies = Pretty much exclusively enjoyed by kids
Also, everyone in this topic who considers Kirby a 'kiddy' game really has no idea what the hell they're talking about. Kirby games are full of charm that people of all ages enjoy. And many Kirby games actually have many challenging things in them to do outside of just the main game. Those things wouldn't be there if the game was exclusively aimed at young children.
