I live in North America and just received my PS3 console and was wondering if I could simply plug in the console with the cables or should I go and some type of voltage converter? If so, which is a good one to choose from?

At least my Asian Fat PS3 works totally fine here in Europe without any converter. I just needed to get another cable.

And when I don't need one (we use 220V/230V here), then you shouldn't need one either because Japan uses 100V.
