Why is it that whenever a character like Metaknight, G&W, Pit etc.. The character usually wins a great amount of times compared to the others. I don't think it's a coincidence either. Is this game really that shallow? I mean is it tiers > skill or skill > tiers like everyone is saying. I do encourage you to flame my ignorance if needed.

People see characters place high on tier lists so they try to become experts in that character. Its only the rare person that will use lower tier characters well enough to be able to compete with those that use high tier characters

Its all just a cruel joke really. Tier Lists seem to do the complete opposite they're created to do

That's why it's so much better to use a low tier character. For example, a good ganondorf player will own because no one is used to his moves. I've played a good ganondorf once and I literally didn't know a single move because I had never played one before. Plus, I've played so many marth's I know how to counter him with my mains easily.

Thats what I love with Lucario as well. I was in a tournament when Dedede was deemed high tier. I chain-grabbed him to hell and completely annihalated him

-Many people play as Marth, but people have different styles/techniques/strategies/etc, so I don't think you'll be beating EVERY single Marth you play against.

-Again, experienced players (I think) have either played as/against every character to develop strategies for beating/winning (with) said character. Thus, a good Ganondorf vs. a good "insert-any other character" will not own just because they haven't "seen" his moves (that's pretty uh..ridiculous especially at higher level gameplay).
