Haven't been on this board in a while, you guys still denying that the developers and producers of Smash stole the idea from Capcom's Power Stone?

I've been here since launch, and I have no idea what you're talking about. I seriously doubt anyone else on the board knows, either. Most of them have only been here for a month or two.

So if this is some attempt at trolling, It's a pretty poor one.

Oh yeah, sorry, your right, I completely forgot that pokedude900 is both the history and encyclopedia of the SSBB board.

While I want to defend Pokedude, as he seems to be a pretty awesome guy, it would seem a few topics HAVE mentioned Power Stone (whatever that is). That said, the majority of such discussion looks to have been quite a long time ago. And seriously, there's no need to be rude. Also, a quick search will easily fact-check.

To answer the TC, it would appear no one's mentioned it since 2011-ish.

I did check before I said anything. A few topics that never reached 20 posts and didn't involve discussion of TC's claim at all. If you're going to fact check, be thorough about it. Just because a game was mentioned once or twice doesn't mean it was ever a hot topic.

^This. Smash came out in Japan 21st January 1999

Power Stone came out in Japan 25th February 1999

Seeing as how close their release dates were, I highly doubt either of them copied one another. Usually when you have one developer copy another there's a few years gap between the games. The game to be copied needs to prove itself as popular/successful before anyone thinks "Oh hey we could make money with something like that too!"

I was talking about Brawl specifically. Thought "SSBB" was obvious enough...
