Since I can't edit the post for some reason with http://us.battle.net/d3/en/artisan/blacksmith/recipe/demons-wings plus http://us.battle.net/d3/en/class/monk/passive/one-with-everything I can have all my elemental resistances over 200.
Currently playing Chrono Trigger - Crimson Echoes.

^Beat me to it.

A 100% increase in magic find would double your odds of finding a magic item.

Example,
3% default rate with a 100% increase would give you a 6% magic find
3% with a 50% increase would be 4.5%

Hope this helps.

What is the exact default drop rate for colored equipment?

If it is 3% then increasing your magic find seems pointless.

I know in d2 the magic find percentages would net you more of certain type of magic item (blue, yellow, brown). For example:

400% magic find would get you a better chance of having more rare (yellow) drops.

500% would get you a better chance of gold item drops.

That is just an example I don't remember the actual numbers. And that was in d2 and I wonder if d3 would be similar. This is just an educated guess but you think blizzard would do something similar.

Pretty sure those were completely random numbers he picked...Even if they arnt 6% drop rate is quite a bit better then 3% dont think of it as a 3% increase think of it as double the chance to drop.
I was going to say the cake is a lie, then I took an arrow to the knee...Then I ate some oranges and everything was k.

Does MF have influence on Gems dropping?
If it can't be fixed with pantyhose and fencing wire, it's not worth fixing.

^

Is that proven?

I would think it doesn't affect yellows. Since it doesn't say it would.

Of course, I could be wrong. But going by what the description says.

I posted on a topic about this earlier. Look up Expected Value on Wikipedia and it will explain a few things for those who don't understand how it works.
