this is really the only part of the game i don't like. a ship like the Executor should be utterly unstoppable (except for the good old random A-wing kamikaze) and suggesting attacking it should be just absymally stupid
thanks for starting this though

True that, but let's face it, people love seeing the SSD in any Star Wars game, and we haven't had many games that gives us a chance to blow one up, much less use it. The last I remember was X-wing Alliance, and that was way back in 1999.

Why want to blow up the  Executor? Its a marvelous ship and can take on an entire fleet with just it's escort. May be with one or two Tartans.:D

I don't know about the sequels, but in the original Rogue Squadron, the biggest thing you could blow up (besides the Death Star) was a World Devastator. I don't remember blowing up any SSDs, that's for sure.

Oh, and *bump*

In Rogue Squadron 3, you actually play as the kamikaze A-wing on the "Attack on the Executor" level. Its an awesome level set in the middle of the battle of Endor, where first you've got to destroy the guns on the side of the ISD's so that Home One can bust through their formation, and then you swoop over the SSD's surface to smash through the command deck. Also, on a level called "Fondor Shipyard attack" or something like that, you've got to fly a stolen experimental TIE fighter to blow up something that looks a lot like an SSD under construction.

Very cool. Rogue Squadron 2 never came to the PC, and I don't have a PS2, so I never go to play it. Amazing how Lucasarts are shafting PC gamers for consoles.
