It's actually getting quite a lot of backlash from Japanese gamers on 2ch. Go read some via Google Translate. Most are saying that FFXV doesn't even look like FF or even a JRPG. They also state that SQEX have completely lost sight of what made the FF series popular to begin with and it's only a matter of time that the brand completely collapses.

It will be interesting to see the lifetime sales of FFXV in Japan. I highly doubt it will cross 2 million mark, especially seeing as FFXIII sold 1.9 million.
Final Fantasy XII is a masterpiece in both game design and story.

Eh, I don't care what others think. I already got 4 copies pre-ordered just to help it succeed a little more.

Now in HD: Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality.
Dragon Quest>Ys=SMT=Tales>Final Fantasy, but I enjoy all five.

They were also very negative about FFXIII. I see FFXV being a success though, both critically and commercially. I think it will outsell FFXIII easily.

2ch complaining isn't exactly surprising. Got a link, though? Wouldn't mind seeing what they're saying.

First it was 2chan, now it's 2ch. Make up your mind.

Besides, Japan doesn't want change. That's why Japanese RPGs have been falling behind lately. They're still stuck in the past.

Actually, it is very positive there, you are exaggerating but from what i know KH3 seems bigger deal to Japanese gamers.
