where we are able to completely control them? imo ffxii and xiii did it the worst, FFX and type-0 style is what i like.

This topic hurts... a lot.

Anyway, yeah, controllable summons sound cool, and the controls would work better in action RPG.

Making them controllable is nice, and it's something I think Tabata would strive for. I don't the summon to kill the MC though.
We live in a world where Time and Eternity gets a release outside of Japan and Final Fantasy Type-0 doesn't.

I'd rather that the summoner run out of MP entirely or some other penalty instead of dying. Or at least, give every character a way to work around the "death" it incurs.

What I found annoying about the system in FF type-0 was that they were only usable on missions and every summon counts as a character 'death' to be penalized in your final grade in a mission. There are means to stop the summoner from dying, but summoning still counts as a death.

If they fix those issues, I don't really mind because the way summons (or War Gods as they're called in game) are directly controlled in FF type-0 is great. I don't really mind the time limit since it's there to balance them.
