from an old dengeki interview

https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXV/comments/7e5lny/what_may_have_happened_to_ffxv_during_the/

"This is a tough question, more or less the theme is ''bonds''.... I think. The core of the story is heavy compared to the series, but the mood is relatively a light comedy. In this story, we are focusing on the daily lives of friends. So depending on how you look at it, the story mucks about a bit (laughs)."

a light comedy? hahaha

get rekt fanboys

add to that the concept arts by ferrari that looked similar to what we got in FFXV; ppl were also expecting noctis to be the brooding-emo guy, but even nomura said that wasn't going to be the direction for him.

Instead, this is what we got...

Tabata- "The core game is a complete and finished experience."

**months later

Tabata- "The game was lacking in character development, lore, story, and gameplay."

It could be that he meant it would have been lighthearted for the most part of the journey, but with some darker stuff when a climax happens.

Or maybe it was gonna be like Gintama. One moment you have Noctis and Prompto throwing poop at each other and the next moment you get a flashback of Noctis killing his own father.

Who knows.
I'm gonna fix that spaghetti

This, and what's more embarassing is the way they focused on the most idiotic things

Are you mentally stable? You are so embarrassingly childish and immature. You need to get life and stop worshipping Tabata and this crap game. Go cry to your cult on r/FFXV. And stop failing at this attempt at trolling. You're not cut out for it.

the only ones obsessing over tabata are the haters

also instead of talking about the content of the topic you talk crap about others.

typical of whiny losers that don't have nothing of value to say.

My impression of Versus was The Godfather meets Romeo and Juliet. That would have been dark, but Comrades is pretty dark too.

This interview is about FFXV, after the change from Versus XIII.
When Nomura is talking about the plot and the "comedy" he is referring to XV, not Versus XIII.
Try actually reading.

  2. Final Fantasy XV
  3. How your "darker" Versus would be, according to Nomura
