Making this because we have an obscene amount of repeat topics asking about various things that usually have topics on the front page that address them.

Omg where's Conquest mode!?

It's not here yet. Dice has already announced that they are working on Conquest mode and that it will be available a few months from now. We still don't know if it will use the current maps or if they are going to make new maps exclusively to use in conjunction with Conquest mode.

Are there parachutes in BC?

At this time, no. It was felt that with the new Gold Rush mode, having parachutes would cause too many problems with dropping troops in behind a base high enough where no one can see. They were left out for balance purposes. There's a very small chance that they could be added in when Conquest mode is implemented.

Is there Clan/Private Match support?

At this time, no. These options could be implemented in a future patch. Please don't make topics crying about it. Please?

What voice chat options are there?

As of the release day (June 23/24), the only voice chat available is squad, which is 4 person only. Many people are petitioning to get Dice to implement more chat options. The most requested is full team chat using push to talk. Feel free to express your opinion on the limited chat options at the BF:BC EA boards located in the following link. http://tinyurl.com/4qtemt

What's the difference in the Gold Edition and the Standard Edition?

Obviously, price is the first difference. Secondly, there are five (5) guns that are unlocked in game once you reach rank 25. These guns are immediately unlocked if you purchase the Gold Edition. You also get a Behind the Scenes Making of video along with other various videos highlighting the game. There is also a video that shows you how to best approach each map.

My pre-order code for the sniper rifle isn't working! I get the M60!

Known issue. It's almost primarily with Gamestop pre-orders and Gamestop has declared that it was an EA issue. If you contact the customer support at gamestop.com with the details of your faulty code, they will e-mail you the code for unlocking the sniper rifle. help@gamestop.com

What does the tracer gun do for the Specialist Kit?

If you tag a vehicle with the tracer, anyone playing the Demolitions Kit will hear something to the effect of "signal transmitting". The vehicle will now show up on the minimap with a square around it (red if an enemy is inside it, white if it's unoccupied). Anyone playing Demo can zoom in on the vehicle and fire an RPG that will home in on the vehicle.

What do the motion sensors (balls) do for the Recon Kit?

If you throw one of the motion sensors out, it will cause any of the enemy players to appear on your teams minimap within the range of the sensor. Very good for a defending sniper to use to help out with crate defense. Also used in counter sniping when an enemy sniper has set up behind or in your current base, or when you need to make sure no one is sneaking up on you.

What do the binoculars do for the Recon Kit?

This item gives you a Laser Guided Bomb that you can drop onto the enemy. The only catch to using it is that it has a "charge time" where you must keep the laser on the vehicle long enough for it to lock on. Once you get an audio confirmation (usually says received request for JDAM or something to that effect), you have about 1 to 2 seconds to move into a better hiding spot. Once you have a birds eye view of the Bomb, you can use the right stick to guide it in. You ARE exposed while guiding the bomb, as your soldier will stand up. Always remember though that even if you don't get a kill with the bomb, just destroying the vehicle can be enough to truly help your team. You can also lock on to unoccupied vehicles, artillery, AA guns, mounted RPGs, etc... etc... and then guide it in to hit a nearby location that may be full of opposing troops.

What does the Life-2 do for the Assault Kit?

It's a rechargeable self heal. It will heal you to 100% health, but does have a recharge time.

What does the handheld device for the Support Kit do?

It allows you to call in a mortar strike on your targeted location. It takes a few seconds to charge the call, and you can not run around while calling for the strike. It is an incredible weapon, but must be used carefully as your own teammates may inadvertently dash in to where you're laying down fire.

I'm playing support and I see crosses and wrenches on my minimap. What do they mean?

A cross is someone on your team that needs a medical pack. A wrench is someone on your team that is inside a vehicle that needs repairs. Please, if you're playing support, pay attention to these icons and try your best to help. You will encounter people who won't wait for a heal/repair and will just run away. It's ok. It's not your fault. One good tactic you can use is finding a stationary location, throwing a bunch of packs on the ground around you, and guarding/attacking one spot. Some people will see the "medic" indicator on their minimap and come running to you for a heal, and you won't even have to do anything.

What's the best thing to unlock first?

That's for you to decide. It is mainly determined by your play style. If you like being right in the fight without having any extra function, you will most likely want to unlock the M16/Life-2 and run with assault.
If you like being able to tear your way through both vehicles and infantry, the Anti-Tank mines may be the best bet for you.
If you want to have more functionality as Recon, then pick up the binoculars.

You almost always want to go with gadgets for your first unlock as they tend to offer much more to you and your team than a new gun will.

What are the Dog Tags for?

In your stats screen, you can see a list of people that you have obtained tags from. Unique tags show the number of unique individuals you have killed for them, whereas total is just how many you have. There are achievements/trophies/patches that are awarded for a certain amount of Dog Tags collected.

What does the SPM in the match results screen stand for?

Score Per Minute. Basically, let's say you're active in a match for 10 minutes and you score 100 points. You have a SPM of 10. It is my belief that your time in the match is not counted if you're at the kit selection and/or spawn screen, but you actually have to be in the field. This may be incorrect.

How do I form a Squad with people from my buddy list?

If you go to the multiplayer screen, and press X, you can see a list of your friends that are online at the moment. You can send them invites which will show up on their system as the standard "SoandSo wants to play".

As of the demo, there is a chance that if the game puts you into a match that is uneven, that the squad can be split up. EA and Dice said they were going to have it fixed for retail, but I haven't had the option of playing in a squad in retail yet.

What are the 360 Achievements, Trophies, Patches, etc... etc...

They are all listed at the following link. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/code/935085.html

That's it for now. I'll start taking notes on what actions get you extra points (i.e. 15 points for healing squad versus 10 points for healing team, headshot bonuses, etc... etc...)

Request sticky if you find any of the above information useful.

Can the sniper rifle only be gotten through that code? Or is it unlocked if you reach a certain level? Also, are they going to be charging extra for a conquest mode that they left out in the first place?

Dice did say that they will offer the Find all Five as DLC later on.

That I'm not sure of. Once I pick up my retail copy, I'll probably be playing multiplayer exclusively until servers need maintenance, but I would think that there will be a level select for any levels you have beaten or at least a select once you finish the game.

There are 2 sniper rifles that can be unlocked in addition to the normal unlockables. THe preorder one is part of the Find all Five promotion, and the other one requires Gold Edition or rank 25.
