My graphics card sucks, but that shouldn't make the text completely illegible. Right? I installed the game, started it up without any problems and then came to the main menu to find that I could read absolutely nothing. It's completely unreadable. However, if I start up a game, I can read the name of the city my settlers start perfectly fine. Should I try to reinstall the game? Is anyone else having a similar problem?
I just downloaded the demo and am having the exact same problem. I can't read any of the menu text, and when I launch the single player I can't read some of the letters for the exposition, and the text on the menus/HUD/everything is illegible.
I honestly have no idea what to do, hopefully someone has solved this.
I brought this to attention on the Steam thread as well, and if you have an integrated graphics card like I do, then we might just not be able to play this game...Someone else was having the same problem, and none of the proposed solutions (updating chipset, trying Directx10 and 9 modes, and switching from fullscreen to windowed) did anything at all. Gosh darn it.

What? That can't be the final answer, that's just simply unacceptable. I've just lost a bit of respect for Firaxis games. But you know, it's still redeemable if they fix this for you guys in the next patch.
I just started a new thread on the same topic. I've got the Intel G965 Express Chipset Family, but I hope I'm not completely screwed. My computer's not old, and although I didn't buy it for games, I can't accept Civ of all games to be unplayable.
