I am at my wit's end here trying to plant the beacon on the asteroid. Everytime I try, I get crushed by those rings that circle it. I tried destroying the gravity teathers in the room, but that doesn't seem to help. Am I missing something here, or do I just have to time this perfectly?

Step by step:
Destroy gravity generators in room.
Jump onto asteroid
Walk quickly to outside of asteroid (The side without those crazy blade things)
Plant beacon
Destroy generators on outside of asteroid.

I'm on that part right now.

Its kinda sketchy, but head to the ceiling. Aim for the middle of the asteroid where both gyros cross paths. Leap as they are crossing each other, press A to plant the beacon, and just as the animation begins spam LT+Y to leap off. Trying to jump cancels the animation but the beacon is planted.

Now to find the other two tethers....

The fact that you can't use stasis on them is just stupid and against the game's logic. The development staff must've been split and the people responsible for these puzzles probably weren't even aware that such an ability had been included.

Ymir, I'm more partial to the idea that your Stasis cannot affect massive things, like the rings around the asteroid. You'll also notice that it doesn't seem to affect the huge bosses or that horrible Centrifugal machine that likes to kill people.

This part is driving me insane as well. I think I'm on my tenth death at this point.

I had a little glitch moment here. I figured out what I was supposed to do almost immediately, but after I destroyed all 4 tether machines, it wouldn't let me plant the SOS beacon. I just walked all around the backside pressing A and nothing happened. Finally at one random spot, he planted it.

Before trying to plant the beacon, run outside into space. The rings don't travel out there, so they can't kill you.
