Exactly. The trick is knowing what tool to use, when. For example, I'll usually counter against a barroth charge since sometimes it gets me a hit in, but dodging isn't always an option. Similarly, I pretty much never block or counter a tailwhip, I'll just hop through it, as it takes less time to get damage back on target.
