I need some advice for getting around this error, when I get to the end of solo mission "Downfall," so that I can continue the single-player campaign.
My copy of WaW is downloaded through Steam, and I'm running Windows 7 on my PC. I have Cod4:MW, and CoD:MW2, and have not had any problems playing the entirety of these games in both single- and multi-player modes
I've already tried the following:
-Updating my Realtek audio drivers to current release from Realtek's website
-Updating my AMD video drivers to current release from AMD's website
-Setting all my audio playback devices to "2 channel, 24-bit, 48000 Hz"
-Enabled "Stereo Mix" in advanced Audio Options within Windows
-Plugging in a headset/microphone into the appropriate audio jacks (both front and back on the PC case)
-Running in compatibility mode Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
-Tried running in other compatibility modes, but resulted in the game crashing to desktop at game start-up instead
-Running game as Administrator
-Used the option to "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" from within Steam
-Deleting local content and then reinstalling the game
-Defragging Cache Files from within Steam
-Making a copy of file "outro.ff" and renaming that copy to "outro_load.ff" (this resulted in a separate error and Crash to Desktop)
-Attempting to find the missing "fast file outro_load" on the internet using google, but variations of search properties did not yield desired results.
-Located a file "outro_load.bik" which seems to be for CoD:BlackOps in Google, but related sites have been edited, and contain no content in order to comply with copyright violation/cease&desist orders.
Anybody have any other ideas I can try, short of buying the game again as a physical copy instead of a digital copy?
Trying to make the Internet a better place, one post at a time.
