I'm halfway through my Consular leveling and the story isn't too bad for me . I like having all these Masters in my debt for having shielded them . Makes me feel like I'll have some chips I can cash in later on .
It's pretty hilarious though how the Jedi Knight is treated as the next coming of Revan while for the Consular the Council mostly sends you on errands to fix internal issues and ignores you for the most part. The Jedi Knight also has quite a few chances to overrule the Council, such as with Kira, and not get in trouble and get their way.
Such as when the Jedi Knight first arrives at the Temple, the Council wants to meet them immediately and they're praised for saving the Jedi Trainee's from destruction by Flesh Raiders. Jedi Consular isn't summoned and is just brushed over to meet their Master. Jedi Knight also meets with far more important people in comparison and takes out quite a few big name characters.
Jedi Consular also serves to fill in gaps of important plot points that happen in the Jedi Knight Story while important Jedi Consular stuff aren't even mentioned in the Jedi Knight story. That and Jedi Knight's Companion Quests are far more important than the Jedi Consular one and have bigger repercussions that are touched on in the Jedi Knight and Jedi Consular stories.
Jedi Knight also learns quite a bit of Sith Lore and the Emperor, especially when concerning the Sith Warrior due to a certain companion and what happens in the later Story.
