If there's the option of a chat filter?

If it offends you leave the filter on.
History is only as accurate as the Author of the Book.

It's no use trying to talk sense into some people.

It's like politics. IF you meet someone that truly believes something, despite how incorrect they are, there is no swaying their opinion.

Because it isn't the word that is punishable. It is the attitude.

You can be offensive and still get around the filter.

Why is verbal abuse punishable if there is a mute button/language filter?
Players shouldn’t need to rely on features like the mute button or language filter to engage with other players in positive ways. When a player verbally abuses another player and forces him to use the mute button, they have already created a negative experience for that player.

This is assuming the player activating the filter is doing it after the fact. If you don't like the language, it should be on in the first place. Or just don't build it into the game if you're going to let players use tribunal as a crutch. This one's on you, Riot.
