It happens too often to me that once I get killed once in top lane, I can't catch up ever again without some good jungler support. But say the jungler won't come, what am I supposed to do? I can't seem to ever risk trading for a minion after a kill or two. Playing safe doesn't seem to help much...

It depends on the lane matchup and player's skill. If the opponent is higher skill level than you then play it safe. If you two are similar in level, but you are in a losing matchup then should also play safe. If you have a winning matchup then you should be able to continue trading with them. Also, always be aware of incoming ganks.

Welp, you have got to play safe. It's better than feeding more kills into a guy that you know can demolish you. I know that he's free-farming off the minions, but you have to keep your distance and either poke at him, or poke for minion kills. Champions like Kennen are fantastic for when you've gotten in a situation like you described.

It's a tough ride. LoL-BlueberryHuggles UMvC3 Phoenix Wright/Captain America/Sentinel

If you suck at knowing when to press your advantage in early phase play champions that just farm top and are unkillable more than not.

Going down in top lane is sometimes pretty hard,

I just play safe and ask for jungle help.
Most dont know how to build effectively to utilise the early lead you have.

Also If i was planning to buy offensively after i die I would slightly change my build path and go abit more defensive!

You don't. Unless you're Jax.

Any champion with high base damage and/or good trading ability should be able to make a comeback, or if you counter-pick you can still comeback. Except for against an Irelia, Jax, or Riven. You just can't.
