I was thinking of posting this on the Saint Row 2 forum but it's pretty much dead, so i'm trying it here. I just finished Saint Row 3, loved the game. I never played the 2 previous games but today i picked up Saint Row 2 and i'm going to play it.
But before i start is there somehting i should know about the second one ? Like important stuff to focus on, stuff that's NOT so important and so on ? Any tips would be appreciated.
i haven't played The Third yet, but i hear that it's respect/mission progression is different than SR2. in SR2, you have to earn respect to continue with story missions, so if you're next to an activity (like insurance fraud) that catches your eye, don't hesitate to do it--it will allow you to play the story missions more freely down the road.
it's a phenomenal game.
GT: Darkgyft PSN: Break_The_Chains I am an advocate for the right to arm bears.
The second one feels a bit less streamlined imo. I felt more like I was playing something like say GTA: SA in that one than I do playing this. This game definitely has more refined gameplay mechanics and all that, but it felt like SR2 had more in it to me, while SR3 is basically just like an MMO that sells 500 DLC packs.
If you like Terraria and can't wait for Starbound check out Darkout too (Greenlight it!): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=98158224
I found SR2 to generally be a bit harder, but I consider that to be a good thing. As others have said, SR3 is more refined, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's a better game. SR2 has more of everything, really.
