Here is a perfect example of the general public having absolutely no imagination at all! Oh if clocktower did this and haunting grounds did this it must be like them right?

Since you people seem to think there's only one direction a horror game with no combat can take check out Penumbra: Black Plague for the PC. Unfortunately since it's a direct sequel to Penumbra: Overture you'll have no clue what the hell's going on, but that's not the damn point. Overture had combat but then they decided to take out out for the sequel Black Plague. Yet the gameplay is a hell of a lot better in the second (though the story is a lot weaker but that's not the point).

Hell, go play their tech demo Penumbra (you can try play it at That's an altogether different game and that didn't have combat either. While it's just a tech demo it still works quite well.
