"Your writing is terrible, and the subject is completely worthless. No one cares about comparing FFXI to WoW these days. That happened in 2005. Also, we get it, you hate FFXI. You also never really made anything resembling progress in FFXI yet played it forever because you're a terrible player.

Also, I really lol'd: The game even forced you to specify exactly what kind of target you wanted to use the ability on. It couldn't be smart and recognize automatically that "Stonga," an offensive Area-of-Effect attack, should be used against enemies, specifically, the enemy you're currently targeting. No, you had to specifically spell it out with the letter "t" (for target) sandwiched between greater-than and less-than brackets.

If you're using <t> for Stonega -- not Stonga -- you're doing it wrong."

^Agree with everything here.

The FFXIV action bar is more user friendly than FFXI it seems, however it also appears to lack the customization of the macro set up from FFXI. If we can't type out what we want, then as someone already said, we won't be able to make custom emotes or change large amounts of equipment with one click among other things. But that's what you get from being aimed to casuals, easier to use with less functions.
Everything and nothing, heart and mind, fantasy and reality. These thing fly through my mind, driving me towards madness.

WoW had an extremely complex macro system, I have no doubt this game will have some sort of macro as well

A macro system can be complex but not user friendly.

WoW's was not user friendly IMO.

FFXI's was user friendly, despite there not being a tutorial for use(which I think should of been an option if no manual was available).

Im sure FFXIV will have customizable macro's

There should always be instructions within the game for macros. Few games seem to get this right.

uhh, no, because we'll more than likely also get a macro palette again - and before you ask - for the same reason WoW and almost every MMO today has hotbars and macros. Macros are more versatile but nothing is wrong with hotbars, I don't know why some of you guys act like everything that wasn't in FFXI shouldn't be in FFXIV because "it sucks"...get real people, while FFXI was great (my favorite MMO), there is room for plenty of improvements and hey if hotbars is bringing in more casuals, the more the merrier I say because got forbid we get more players to play the game with us.

Ooooh, I accidentally left out one single letter. Somebody call the grammar police! We can't have people making typos! Not on the internet!

And personally, I prefer custom input text titles over simple icons because in a second I will always know what that text labeled button does, but with Icons I have to roll over it to see what it is.

You've never learned to recognize an ability by its icon?

he was referring to the fact that you were using <t> for an offensive black magic -ga spell
