Anyone else think that if you time it perfectly right before you get hit it doesn't register? I believe so. I have to delay it a little to make it work. It kind of messes me up a bit.

It's not called "too perfect", it's called "Too Late"...
Take into consideration the input lag - it takes your thumbs a tiny fraction of a second to press down.
Then consider that the visual cues you receive are delayed by 2-8ms depending on your TV.
"W-whaaat... H-how?!"
