He went from a dark, grudging and stubborn man to a generic hero. His new voice sucks. He always had this quiet, yet insightful get-the-job-done tone...but he sounds so differerent now. Like a generic, faceless do-good.
Hey, my name is Tasi. You may address me as such if you wish. =]

Yup :(

Well...he didn't have much personality before...but I liked it that way.
I apologize for whatever I just said.

IMO he did. His silence, dark voice and rude tone were a big part of it.

I couldn't agree more with ocarinaoftasi's description of Ford, which made him a unique hero who didn't care of what you thought, he just did what he was told.
But now he will just be some cheesy guy that can get along with everybody and be stuck in some cliche hero scenario.

Look at the bright side, just one less thing they can try to compare TCon2 with Halo.

^I guess that's true. It better be funny as hell.
I apologize for whatever I just said.

I'm with Tasi; Ford may have lacked depth in the first game, but I prefer this to making him a cheesefest on legs.

I disagree with OoTasi. I think TCon had a generic story and generic characters with a generic gritty-voiced main character. Going for a more corny narrative at least gives it some life, and leaves it open to subtle comedy. Or perhaps even blatant comedy:

Ford: "I'm not one to shoot first and ask questions later. That's very decent of me... (zoom in on Ford's glasses)... isn't it?"
*gunshot*

Of course, that's way more exaggerated than what it'll probably be. But I consider his move to a more campy personality as a natural progression for his character. The one-liner threads existed before we even knew about Ford's new voice, so it stands to reason that it is a natural progression.
"A closet intellectual, he acts dumb to impress women."
Daos (Doritos and Orange Soda) for Con2 currency name. I support this.

Is cheesiness related to the funny?
