His complaints were more about it not being an action game and the melee combat.
you must have missed the fit thrown over the second screen and how it pulled him out of the game....ironic because I'd think it would add tension and immersion.
He did go on some about melee though and lack of ammo. As far as the impression of only the cricket bat for melee....I distinctly remember footage of a pickaxe, and there is some promo art of a guardsman severing a head w/a bayonet.
I'm thinking this guy was just a bad fit for the game...more of keep the twitches coming sorta gammer.
The pickaxe was trailer only, same with the bayonet.

So for anyone who has the Wii U and is playing, how is it? :D
I spent 7 hours playing Nintendo Land and Mario....
I'll have Mario footage posted tomorrow morning. Nintendo Land is better than I expected. The new friend system is much nicer. I have little to no interest in MiiVerse. It doesn't even seem to function like a chatroom or message board. It's just random messages that are approved for posting (there's a strict filtering system) and not directed at anyone. So it's almost pointless because you're not really communicating with anyone. Video chat will be more popular, I think, but not among strangers (obviously). No way MiiVerse could replace, say, a Conduit 3 board. It doesn't function the same.
I don't care for the MiiVerse menu that pops up every time you start up the system. I wish I could shut that off. I just want to get into the games or some other menu features quickly.
It's odd that this system features so many different controllers, yet you're forced to use the GamePad for certain things like the eShop. I don't like that either. You can browse other menus with just the Wii remote.
But once you get into a good game like Mario you forget all that crap and start having fun.
Oh, where's my Conduit announcement? Huh?
