Agreed, the struggle is indeed real, but I don't know why.
My belief has always been that almost all of us were here for pretty much the same reasons. Namely, because we love this game, and because we were looking for like-minded people to share our C2 experiences with, as well as people to play with and learn from.
Becoming friends with like-minded people is inevitable, and along the way I have met some people here who are truly amazing. Andy has an unbelievable amount of experience with lots of real-world weaponry, and Punch is one of the funniest people you'll ever met. This place is full of interesting characters, err.. I mean people, if you just take a moment to listen to them.
There used to be an interest in keeping things "fair," but I think we've slowly lost that over time.
We used to try to maintain some balance between the clans, so that no one clan had an overwhelming advantage over everyone else. Maybe I'm guilty of that myself, but it's difficult for me to imagine that any clan with me in it could ever have an unfair advantage, LOL.
We used to share "secrets" like the best route around a map, or about various weapons and how to best use them. People posted entire guides.
Now it seems like people are more interested on finding something that can be exploited, and then keeping it to yourself, rather than sharing it with everyone.
Sure, you can argue "figure it out for yourself," but the reality of the situation is that the online environment isn't what it was two years ago, and everyone knows it. I leveled my first account to 60 playing FFA only. You could never do that now.
It doesn't mean it has to be this way though.
