The physical edition is set to have a limited release in the US for the PS3 version of 2G, with only enough copies being produced to cover the preorders for the title. It just went up for preorder on Gaijinworks website an hour ago (June 23 at 3:00 EST) and is set to only be up for a month, with no more physical orders being taken after that. The price is set at $49.99.
Your link didn't work for me, maybe they changed it since. I may end up ordering a copy of this. Maybe be my second rarest game I own :p $64 is not bad though. Just under £38 before any conversion fees are added which is about the regular price of a PS3 game for me.
Valkyria Chronicles is the best RPG last gen! Matt-Moores - Taking awesome to a whole new level. Enjoy the PS4!
The whole point of how they're doing the physical version was because they were originally intending to release it as a digital only game. Yes, there's going to be a digital version, and has been since the announcement of the game coming out in the US.

Do you get the digital version as well when you order the physical version, just like the psp?
Only the PSP games we're releasing include the physical and digital version because we were able to negotiate that arrangement with the licensors because the Vita collectors could not play the game if they bought it as it can't play UMDs. There's unfortunately no such compelling logic to negotiate a similar deal for a PS3 game. Still, even though we're confined to doing physical+digital on PSP only so far, it's still way more than literally any other publisher is doing or even attempting to do for fans.
