I just unlocked this character, and he has two damage abilities, Ballistic Blades and Inferno Grenades. Now, I have Inferno Grenades on my Krogan Soldier, so I am familiar with them, and they make sense. They say they do X amount of damage per second, and have a duration on them.

Ballistic Blades also have a Duration... are really long one as a matter of fact, but their damage is rated obscenely high, so I can't imagine they do all that damage per second, and especially not for as long as the duration is. So, does it bleed the total damage over the course of the duration, and if so, why would you want a longer duration on the power?

And since we are talking about it, what evolutions are good?

bleed is better if you want your damage sooner rather than later

otherwise explosive blades

I usually went with damage, range, and then alternated between explosion or bleed/damage. I feel both of the final options are good but I prefer the explosion a bit. Enemies at longer ranges seemed to take less damage, but they took the same damage from the explosion no matter what.

I think the majority of damage is done immediately, and maybe 20 % of the listed damage is done in bleeding.

explosive blades is guaranteed damage, and an extra stagger, but at a delay. bleed/damage is the same exact potential damage, upfront, with the caveat that you have to be in their face.

Explosive Blades sounds better because by the time it explodes, you are ready to shoot new blades at the enemy. Sounds good for mini-bosses.

25% of the damage listed is dealt as bleed damage over 10 seconds. The damage and bleed evolution increases this to 15 seconds.

I highly recommend explosive blades as the double stagger and explosion damage make it more consistent and effective. Range is obviously better than recharge speed and take damage over the insignificant 20 degrees increase from cone spread.

Range and Explosion are what I tend to go for, I use them as a stagger tool to manage close foes while my gun and grenades do their job.
