using equipment definitely makes matches go faster and I have more than I'll ever need so I always use lvl1 stuff

if it the team isn't using any AND have low common weapons/n7/challenge points/leveled characters I'll probably just find a new room
if I play a match and it was pretty good and not lagging to hell and back I'll use higher leveled equipment

in general how I use my gear

bronze: rank 1
silver: rank 1 or 2
gold: rank 2 or 3
platinum: rank 3 or 4

equipping gear also depends on if I am in a lobby or searching for a lobby. If I am searching for a lobby I just have gear. No point in me using gear if I chance popping in at wave 8 and there are 2 guys just cleaning house.

I usually just put on something useless like Explosive Rounds or an Adrenaline Module I to make it seem like I'm making an effort.

Depends on my character. If I'm using AFI or the Armiger Turian sol or ghost then I just do gear since ill be invincible practically. But I like to use them on some games. Usually against collectors or geth if u don't have a good ability.
