But the gaming experience will always be improved by graphics. Imagine Chrono Trigger in full 3DS graphics, while keeping its artistic touch.
Not only does it suck, but it sucks for 2 AND A HALF HOURS. ~ Choco_hose on The Mist.

You know I...don't really see how that would work. Unless you're talking about a full remake, rather than a port with slapped on 3D.

Ok Chrono tirgger was a bad example. But imagine my argument, but with a decent example.

Artistic direction and making good use of the power of the system is more important for visuals than sheer polygon count. Though good graphical capabilities do help.

Im pretty sure anybody who isent an xbox fanboy realises this.

A perfect example is fire emblem for gba.

If you remade Chrono Trigger in 3D though, it might actually dampen the effect. The game was made with 2D in mind, and was full of detailed spriting. To sacrifice that for 3D might be a minus as opposed to a plus.

Chrono Trigger also relied directly on 2D gameplay. After all there's moves that hit in a straight line and you can only tell how effective they'll be with the view the game gave you.
