I have heard many different occasions where people have had problems with their L and R buttons on the DS lite and DSi... I have a DS phat and haven't had this experience and I play Call of Duty which if you don't know, you use the L button quite a lot..

Do you guys think Nintendo will bring us more durable buttons. I would love for them to do whatever they did with the DS phat because I've had mine for 5 years and it's still in perfect condition.

Never had a problem with any of my buttons, and I've owned EVERY Nintendo handheld.

My Ds Phat is fine. I've heard the shoulder buttons fail much easier in DSlite/i/XL's than the original. I've seen several topics about the failed shoulder buttons on Lite. My cousins own a DS lite, and neither of it's shoulder buttons work.

the 3DS looks like a DSlite. So I would assume the same crappy button failures will occur. Hopefully not though.

I hope not, on every ds I've owned they have broken, except my DSi which failed once but then I blew into the buttons then shook it alot and they worked.

I hope not. My DS Lite works okay, but my DSi buttons don't work if it's in my pocket for a day or is untouched for a day. >_<

I've had a Phat and a DSi and the R trigger on both are messed up. The DSi's R trigger started messing up just a week after I bought it, too.

Something needs changing as far as I'm concerned.

My A and B buttons would trigger the power button if held for too long.
