Nothing crazy or stupid like for the DS where it made for bad minigame games. It just seems like a waste not to use it for something.

Mario Kart: Map/Rearview Mirror
Zelda: Map/Equipment/Status
Mario: HUD, Stars, Map
Paper Mario: Map, Equipment
Castlevania: Map/Enemy Info
SSB: Whole Stage View, Items/Equips
Tetris: Acheivments, Next, zoom view of active area
Kirby: HUD, Ability, Doomguy style kirby avatar
MGS: Quick Equip/Status
Various: Whenever touching is more convienent than not, but never required(e.g. quick equip in Zelda). To add more information about what is going on(e.g. Map for Castlevania)

SSB: Time, Stock, HP/DMG %

No need to clutter the top screen with that.

^That, pretty much. All games that usually have a sort of heads-up display will now have it on the bottom screen, hopefully. If the HUD of games were still on the top screen, the developers would have to give it 3D depth, which would be distracting at some points.
Get smashed, gate crash!
