There is now a phone that can take and display 3D pictures and video without the glasses:

www.htc.com/www/product/evo3d/overview.html

My question is how long will it be until phones can play 3D games and what will this mean for the 3DS? For me, I think it may be inevitable, and if does happen, it would practically erase the thing that sets the 3DS apart as it is only aspect of the 3DS that compares favorably to the VITA.
Worst E3 ever.

Maybe I'm being ignorant but I don't think a cell phone will ever be able to out-do a current Nintendo hand-held. the HTC Evo is impressive but doesn't do anything that's not already available technologywise. 3D games on cell phones probably aren't that far away (less than a year), so I guess we'll see.

It won't mean a thing truthfully, alot of folks use their phones for more than just games. So 3-D games are gonna be secondary.

I already own an Android phone and a portable device that displays glasses-free 3D (i.e. the 3DS), so I'm not in any hurry to buy something that's both of those at the same time.

I would think this might mean more 3D eshop titles. It's kind of a lot of work develop a 3D title for only one system.

Using a 3D enabled touch screen phone won't work well button wise. Placing your finger between your eyes and the screen disrupts 3D visuals, so the games would be limited to motion sensing.
