Sorry if this has been said before, but there's way too many topics made to find the answer to this specific question.

So, is Nintendo permenantly reducing the price by $80, or is it just an attention-getter?

Great, that's good to hear. The 3DS community shall be larger, while the early adopters get free stuff.

Nintendo's pretty good to it's customers.
