Hi, I'm an aussie, and in the land down under, the 3ds sells for $350 average. Couple of places I can get it for 300, but I know it's 250 average in the US. I know the price drop is coming soon, but I doubt it'll drop below even $250 here thanks to our shoddy gaming market, so my question is:

If I bought a 3ds from America or the UK or whatever, would that mean I'd have to buy any and all games from that region as well? And would I be able to play online here?

Thanks!!!

Yes. Region locking means a 3DS will only play games from a specific region, regardless of your actual location.

Online games should work. But some stuff, like Nintendo Video, won't.

Ah ok, thanks to both of you. I'll probably just import from the UK then. Cheers.
