Nintendo themselves won't be using it, however - they feel that would hurt their reputation. But they're getting serious about their digital model. So I'm glad there.

- Nintendo says retail content isn't going away, but they want to make digital downloads another 'pillar'

And we all know what happened the last time he said that <_<

Allowing DLC already hurts their reputation.

Not with developers it doesn't. Capcom was already considering giving 3DS SSFIV Arcade Edition. Now they have a way to provide that digitally. And more people will take the platform seriously.

In other words, Nintendo will still make complete games but just handed Capcom a golden ticket to the DLC factory...

Digital content is an escape for lazy developers, nothing more. You may like paying for nothing but data, but some of us actually understand that such hurts the global economy, and is detrimental to all in the long run.
